Love

This is my first blog, the day after Valentine’s Day, 2012. I am still filled with the universal love of yesterday, with love for my clients, friends, and people I have never met.

Love is the healer, and awareness of it is the tool which facilitates healing. As an Ayurvedic Practitioner for 30 years, I have learned that my j ob is to help my clients increase their own awareness of the messages of their body, mind, emotions and spirit. Once they become aware of those messages–of what is actually going on in their bodies, minds and emotions–the shift is already happening. The shift from imbalance to balance. From trying to “be” someone or something, to being exactly who they are, here and now, their original nature.

That original nature, or constitutional nature, or Prakriti, is the dynamic equilibrium of all physical, mental and emotional processes that provides optimum health. For each of us that equilibrium is different.

Trying to be someone other than who we are, or suppressing our hopes, dreams, opinions, creates imbalance. Eating food which overly stimulates us or dulls us creates imbalance. Eating and/or sleeping erratically,  not according to our natural rhythms, creates imbalance.

Imbalances are known by their symptoms. When the symptoms are extreme and interfere with our normal functioning in our life, they are called diseases or disorders. With the knowledge of Ayurveda, we can note the early symptoms of imbalance and restore balance before they develop into diseases.

Once the imbalances are rooted, they are harder to reverse to health. Pancha Karma is one way Ayurveda roots out deep-seated imbalances. As dirt makes a window hard to see through, toxins make it harder for our body to function normally.  Pancha Karma removes metabolic, biologic and mental toxins to allow our body to restore its natural rhythms and processes.

I will write more later. I will see if I can upload this onto my website…I had tried b
